Houses Dedicated
Anna

Dear friends,

Anna and her son live in a pallet house in Kilometer 30. They have a little electricity, but they are at the end of the line so they can only illuminate two light bulbs at one time. They have a refrigerator that cools a little bit if all the lights are off. Anna was born in San Salvador where she met her husband and married.  Her husband began to drink, and Anna left him when he started beating her. She had a job as a maid while she was in San Salvador. She walked most of the way, about 1,600 miles to get to Juarez, over a period of years.  Anna has lived in Kilometer 30 for over six years. She has a steady job in a wiring harness factory, but she works the late shift, leaving her house at 2:30 p.m. and returning home about 1:30 a.m. in the night. It is the most hazardous shift for women, walking home in the dark. .

Blessings,
