February 2007, American Teams and Members
If you are looking for a great family vacation, if you are looking for great new friends, if you are trying to solve really hard family problems, join a trip to Juarez!
One agnostic in February has survived two bouts with cancer. The first prayer of his life was the final morning praying for the team and the families that received the new homes.
Pastor Ian gives this counsel to parents of troubled children in his congregation, "Send them to Juarez with me and God will change them." And he brings them and they are changed.
Menlo Park brought their second team of the year, completing their 4th and 5th homes of this year. Young Jacob, 12 years old, was on the team. His first trip to Juarez was two years ago when he was only 10, and God touched him. Since that time, Jacob faithfully sends regular shipments of clothes, school supplies and many other items. He has also raised over $2,000 in cash contributions that have mainly been used in our medical clinic.
Prestige Reality made their annual trip to Juarez. This year, they had a family team and a management team and built four houses in two trips in two consecutive weeks. One team washed the feet of the congregation at the church service, and one member kissed the pastor's feet after washing them. The service was way over the top for everyone. Over 300+ supporters sent in checks for the trip including the parents of Rachel Scott from Columbine High School.
Littleton Vineyard Church made their annual trip to Juarez. They built three homes, painted the interiors and trimmed the interior doors and windows. Their congregation numbers about 200 on most Sundays. Two weeks prior to their departure date, they were $15,000 short, and the team of 26 adults and children were feeling the pressure. Pastor Ian remained faithful to his vision of three homes, and the little church's faith grew as they raised everything needed for the trip, plus extra donations and material.
