Juan and Isabel moved out to the Kilometer 30 area about five years ago. They thought they were buying the land they moved onto for over three years. They built a pallet house with a dirt floor on that piece of land. At the end of three years, the landowner evicted them and moved onto the land himself. The money they thought had been to purchase the land for their family went to purchase the land for the real owner. When he paid off the land and had the papers for the property, he drove them out. Juan's mother then bought a piece of land for Juan and his brother where their "new” pallet house stands. They are located close to the only electrical service and have a little power to the house. During the windy days (which there are a lot of), their little shack is so full of dust and dirt, they go outside, day or night, to breathe. A new, air tight clean environment will be a huge blessing for this family of seven.
