| Dear friends,
Rafael and Brenda have a new home from the Novato Presbyterian team and have moved out of their bus (see houses dedicated.)
Over 200 patients were seen at the medical clinic by the Novato Presbyterian medical team during the construction of the house in mid October. One family of 11 all had bad cases of scabies, so we quickly moved them through the full waiting room to a isolated room and discharged them through the back door. The kitchen staff washed the room down with bleach, and it appears we controlled the spread to others. A three year old girl was brought in who had fallen into a septic tank hole and came out with a rusty nail sticking in her flesh about one inch. Her parents were not around, so a neighbor cleaned her up and brought her in. She had never had childhood immunizations. We gave her a tetanus shot so she could survive.
Centennial Community Church answered Pastor Martin’s prayers and built a 24’x 48’ church in just two days. The donated paint we had prepared was brown, but God didn’t want the church brown, so He sent rain the second morning so His church would be a happy color later! It ended up bright yellow with yellow trim. Look for a photo on our website soon. The team dedicated the church the second evening to a standing room only crowd.
The men’s team from Cherry Hills Community Church came down to start construction on a 5,000 sq. ft. youth center, but God’s plan was to help Pastor Miguel’s soup get fully operational, repair all the windows in a secondary school nearby and do a little maintenance there. Steve shared a gospel message with the students and about half raised their hands to receive Christ.
Dr Enriquez from the El Paso medical team was here last Saturday and treated about 85 patients. We also spoke to Dr Enriquez about being our full time doctor at our clinic and his response was that he would love to be our doctor. I have a dream, and a Spanish speaking colonia-born doctor would fill that very nicely.
Blessing from Juarez,
Jeff and jenny
