Juarez Updates
September 17, 2006 Last Week in Juarez - Belem's 15th Birthday

Dear friends,

Another busy week in Juarez:

Ed Bullis, founder of Missions Ministries, returned to Juarez for his first trip back since three stints in his heart and was looking very good, an answer to many prayers.   Two homes were built, and one family re-united. Margaret's husband returned home after about a seven day absence and worked with the team both days helping build their new home. Margaret's five children hope he will stay home with them. One church growth problem at Kilometer 30 was resolved. About 60 chairs were driven down by Casey, donated by Foothills Bible Church. Pastor Miguel and his wife have been wanting more chairs so people that came to the services could actually sit down in a chair during the church service. We have been going to their church for almost a year, and I have never enjoyed a chair during a service there. Other churches here have the same church growth problem. The foundation was started for a 5,000 square foot youth center to be built at Pastor Jesus's church site next month. The men's construction team from Cherry Hills also finished the demolition of a house on the property, next to the site. Two thousand pairs of good condition and new shoes were distributed to our pastors for the needy.  Our pastors were delighted. Jenny and I were stopped at the border Saturday morning returning to Mexico, bringing a large shipment of new formula and diapers (43 large cans and 6 large diaper bags), in the plastic bags from Wal-Mart. The Mexican Federal Police officer took only a quick look and told us to pass! Can things be changing for the better or did God blind his eyes this time for our little ones here?   Belem (one of our assistants in the library/computer lab) had her 15th birthday celebration Saturday night. Three of her eight escorts were our construction team.  Can you recognise Raoul, Juan Carlos and Luis? A girl's 15th birthday is often the grandest celebration of her life.  Missions Ministries helped with the costs of the festive celebration.

Blessings from Juarez,

jeff and jenny
