Dear Friends,
 

Rita and her dad, Santiago, and her oldest son Lupe, live together. Lupe works as a construction helper with cinder blocks and helps provide for his mom and grandfather. Santiago picks up a few cans for recycling, but Rita is considered too old for employment in this area. Rita loves her many parakeets! One parakeet is watching over 14 eggs and another just hatched four eggs this week. Their shack has a dirt floor and is very poorly sealed. Their property is protected by an attack goose and Rita enjoys taking the goose for a regular run! They have had a very hard life, and their new home will be quite a blessing.
