Thomas, 27 years old and Manuella, 26 years old, have struggled most of their married lives to pay rent and feed their children. Thomas is a skilled concrete block layer, but often there are no jobs. They moved to Kilometer 30 last November and lived in an empty pallet house while they built their small one room house. It has a dirt floor and no electricity. In between jobs, Thomas takes the bus downtown or to a border bridge and cleans windshields for tips. He is gone most of the day and sometimes doesn't cover his bus fare. They have been without propane for some time and food is very scarce. Missions Ministries provided some food after seeing their current situation. A safe warm home is critical to this young family’s survival.
