Educational Mission –
Ongoing Needs
Scholarship Fund
$120 per student pays for one year of school inscription fees and required uniform. We are trying to provide for 150 students to attend school this year. If you can sponsor one or more, please let us know.
Student School Supplies
$20 per student will buy a new backpack; $20 will fill it with school supplies for the start of the new school year. You can donate money for supplies, or fill and donate backpacks for us to take to Juarez for you. Both small and large donations of the following supplies are needed year-round:
- 3-ring binders (1 inch and 1-1/2 inch ring sizes preferred)
- ruled notebook filler paper (either wide rule or college rule)
- tab dividers for 3-ring binders (sets of 5 or 8)
- spiral notebooks
- 2-pocket folders (either with or without 3-prong fasteners)
- #2 pencils
- blue or black ballpoint pens
- colored pencils
- plastic pencil sharpeners
- pink rubber erasers
- Crayola washable markers (classic colors, both broad-tip and thin-tip)
- plastic protractors
- compasses
- wooden rulers (must have both inches and metric centimeters)
- scissors (both child- and adult-sized)
- glue sticks (in original, unopened packages to prevent drying)
- or washable school glue
- graph paper (1/4 inch grid preferred)
Financial support toward library operational needs
We currently have an urgent need for individuals or groups to consider 'adopting' one of our libraries. They provide important educational support for students, as well as serving as community centers in the colonias.
