I think the parents were grateful our kids got to see life outside of suburban America. But it was humbling for all of us to see that, despite their poverty, the Mexican youth are joyful and respectful. We are always more blessed that our patients are. Their attitude, their strength of faith, amidst far more difficult circumstances than ours, is very uplifting."
