Looking to 2011
Dear Friends and Family of Missions Ministries:
It’s hard to believe the end of the year is already here! We can’t help but thank God for all the blessings He has poured out on us this year. Missions Ministries wishes everyone a Merry Christmas as we gather with friends and family to celebrate the birth of our Savior.
As this year comes to a close, we encourage you to keep Missions Ministries in your prayers as we prepare for 2011. We have made several changes here at MM. As fewer teams are going to the Colonias, we are operating on a smaller budget and looking for the best ways to serve our brothers and sisters in Mexico with the donations that we receive. Missions Ministries is continually dedicated to our mission of providing for the needs of families in Mexico who have so little. We continue to serve them through medical care, building houses, and educating children.
Here is a quick review of what happened in 2010:
- We successfully completed 16 RTW builds in the Denver area to send 16 new homes down to Mexico for families in need.
- More than 290 people on 18 different teams served in the Colonias through building houses and staffing the medical clinic at our Team Center in Kilometer 30
- We had a successful multi-home build on October 16th at Bandimere Speedway. Lots of friends, fun, and hammers swinging to complete 10 homes for families in need
- MM hosted a Team Appreciation Dinner for past team leaders and major donors at Cherry Hills Community Church. We anticipated 60 guests and were humbled by 150 that came! A wonderful event with Mexican fare, special visitors Leo and Susy and their kids, and the premier of the new MM DVD. We are grateful for the many servant hearts that continue to support MM.
- Over 650 Christmas boxes were prepared by volunteers from several churches and shipped down to Juarez to give kids there Christmas presents that they would not receive otherwise.
And what we’ll be looking forward to in 2011:
- More multi-home builds around the Denver area and other states. If you would like to form a team and raise money to build a home at one of these events, please contact Gary Fields at Gary@missionsministries.org.
- Continue to serve alongside teams in the Colonias by building relationships, serving the poor, and drawing closer to the Lord
- Actively engage more volunteers in all areas of the ministry, including fundraising, media, newsletters, and hands-on service.
- Increase the number of RTW builds to ship more houses to Mexico. We need you to be a part of this and organize a team, whether that be your co-workers, your neighbors, or with family and friends.
Missions Ministries is so grateful for everyone who has come alongside us to serve the poor and needy in Mexico. Without your prayers, support, and donations, we could not continue serving where the Lord has called us. So as this year comes to a close and we move into 2011, we invite you to partner with us. Anyone can help! Anyone can raise a team to go to the Colonias or raise the walls of a home here! Come join us!
Thank you as always for your prayers and continue to pray with us for guidance and provision for the New Year!
Blessings,
Missions Ministries Staff and Board
